We recommend that you check all of your baggage
as there is limited space available in the aircraft cabin.
Carry-On Baggage
For the convenience and safety of all passengers the following dimensions
will be used to determine the allowable carry-on baggage for each aircraft type:
- Carry-on items can be checked for size by using the sizing device located at the
check-in counter indicated by the signage shown on the right.
- Carry-on baggage must be stored under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment. Please
be aware that available space varies from one aircraft type to another.
Boeing 737-200
Pieces Permitted: 2
Maximum Weight: 10 kg (22 lbs)
Maximum Size: 9 inches wide by 16 inches high by 20 inches long would be
the maximum size allowed.
Hawker Siddeley 748
Pieces Permitted: 2
Maximum Weight: 3.5 kg (8 lbs)
Maximum Size: 9 inches wide by 11 inches high by 15 inches long would be
the maximum size allowed.
Checked Baggage
All checked baggage must be presented at our check-in counter.
General Baggage Information
- Each checked bag must have an identification tag.
- Baggage and carry-on articles will be carried within the space and
weight limitation of the aircraft.
- All baggage or goods presented for transportation are subject to
inspection by our personnel.
- No articles of baggage or goods will be carried when that article is
likely to endanger the aircraft, persons or property; are likely to be
damaged by air carriage; or if the carriage of that article would
violate any applicable law, regulation, or order.
Checked Baggage Allowances
The baggage allowance per passenger per aircraft type is as follows:
Boeing 737-200
Pieces Permitted 2
Maximum Weight: Total weight of 45 kg (100 lbs). No 1 piece can exceed
32 kg (70 lbs).
Excess Baggage: Any checked bag in excess of 2 pieces is subject to
excess baggage charges of $30.00 + taxes per piece.
Overweight Baggage: Any checked bag weighing between 33 kg (71 lbs) and
45 kg (100 lbs) is subject to overweight baggage charges of $1.00 per
pound + taxes.
Any bag weighing more than 45 kg (100 lbs) must be shipped as cargo.
Oversized Baggage: If the sum of the three dimensions (length x width x
height) of any piece exceeds 76 inches that piece is subject to an
oversized baggage charge of $30.00 + taxes.

Pieces Permitted 2
Maximum Weight: Total weight of 20 kg (44 lbs).
Excess Baggage: Any checked bag weighing between 21 kg (45 lbs) and 45
kg (100 lbs) is subject to overweight baggage charges.
Oversized Baggage: Dimensional charges apply.
Sporting Equipment
You may bring 2 items of checked baggage at no charge. You may
substitute a piece of sporting equipment for a checked bag, provided it
meets our baggage size and weight guidelines.
The following items may be accepted by Air North if the item meets the
requirement, as set out above:
Hockey Equipment
The oversize fee will be waived if the hockey bag's primary use is to
transport equipment then the overweight fee will also be waived (up to
100 lbs). The excess piece fee will be charged if applicable.
Fishing & Hunting Equipment
The oversize fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee
will be charged if applicable. Fishing equipment is considered a fishing
rod and tackle box. Fishing rods must be encased in a hard shell
cylinder fishing rod container.
Firearms and Ammunition
Unloaded firearms can be accepted as either checked baggage or cargo and
should be in a locked, hard-sided case. Bolt-action firearms must have
the bolt removed and packed separately. The passenger is required to
sign a Firearms Declaration Form declaring that the firearm is unloaded
and acknowledging your responsibility under the criminal code.
Only ammunition in Division 1.4S as defined in the IATA Dangerous Goods
Regulations, weighing less than 11 lbs (5 kg) per customer will be
accepted for carriage as checked baggage, only provided it is packed
securely, preferably in the manufacturer's original container or in a
container specifically designed for the carriage of small arms
ammunition. Ammunition other than 1.4S will not be accepted as checked
baggage.
Ammunition weighing more than 11 lbs (5 kg) must be shipped as cargo.
Shippers must comply with the provisions of the dangerous goods
regulations.
Bicycles
An oversized fee of $25 is applicable. The overweight or excess piece
fee will be charged if applicable. Bicycles must be packed to prevent
any damage. We strongly recommend a bicycle box and if one is not
available at minimum we ask that the tires are partially deflated and
handle bars are turned in.
Skateboards
Are accepted but they must be packed to prevent any damage.
Sports Rackets
Are permitted in carry-on baggage when they are within the sizing
restrictions, however they must be properly packaged to prevent damage.
Skis/Snowboards
The oversized fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee
will be charged if applicable. Ski/Snowboard equipment is considered to
be: Skis, boots and poles, or Snowboards and boots, or Water skis
(up to two)
Volleyball/Basketball Equipment
The oversize fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee
will be charged if applicable.
Golf Clubs
The oversize fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee
will be charged if applicable.
Skate Equipment
The oversize fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee
will be charged if applicable.
If your sporting equipment is improperly packed, you will be asked to
sign a Limited Liability Release Form at check-in, releasing Air North
of any liability for damage. Sporting equipment is subject to all
applicable excess baggage fees (extra piece, overweight or oversize)
unless otherwise stated.
Damaged Baggage
Air North does everything possible to ensure careful baggage handling,
but occasionally baggage or contents can be damaged during the
processes.
Damage due to excess weight or over packing is not covered. In the event
that your baggage has been damaged please go directly to a customer
service agent. The Air North agent will fill out the required
documentation. If it is decided that your baggage must be repaired the
agent will offer either immediate settlement equal to the cost of
repair, or we'll arrange for your baggage to be repaired at our cost up
to Air North's maximum liability of $250.
Delayed Baggage
If your baggage is delayed in arriving, please go directly to an Air
North agent. The agent will fill out the required documentation.
Most delayed baggage arrives within 24 hours but if you have reached
your destination, and your baggage has not been recovered within 24
hours, you will be authorized to spend up to $25 a day for 3 days to
help cover the cost of incidental expenses while we continue to search.
Your baggage will be delivered to you as soon as it arrives. In rare
cases where the bag is not recovered within 30 days, the Airport Baggage
Agent will settle your claim up to Air North's Maximum liability of
$250, excluding interim expenses of up to $75.
Liability
For domestic travel, Air North's maximum liability for lost or damaged
baggage and lost contents as a result of damage is $250 per person, per
incident.
Air North assumes no liability for (but not limited to) fragile,
valuable, or perishable articles including money, jewelry, cameras,
video and electronic equipment, silverware, negotiable instruments,
business documents, samples, antiques, paintings, furs, dentures,
manuscripts, or similar items.
Air North does not compensate for zippers, scruffs, scratches, nicks,
dents, missing straps, feet, clips and wheels, exterior tube handles or
similar damage attributable to normal wear and tear.
Transfer Of Baggage To Other Airlines
At this time Air North does not have inter-airline baggage agreements,
with any other carrier.
We are, however, talking to carriers who would like to help us
facilitate connecting our passengers to their ongoing flights. We will
report further progress with regards to baggage connections as it
becomes available.
At this time you will need to collect your baggage at the termination of
your Air North flight and check yourself and your baggage in with your
connecting carrier.
Lost and Found Items
Air North is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. We will,
however, do our best to assist you in such an event. If we locate your
item, we will keep it at the Air North office at the airport where it
was found, for 14 days. If you are trying to locate a lost item, call

If your lost item has been found, you will be instructed to call Air
North at the local airport to arrange to pick it up or have a courier
pick it up at your expense.
The local airport disposes of any items unclaimed after 30 days.
